Mum attended the prestigious Queens School, Enugu, one of the most respected girls' institutions of her generation — a place that shaped both her mind and her bearing.

She had the privilege of going from her beloved Queens School to the prestigious University College Hospital, Ibadan, to study nursing — the profession that would become her lifelong calling.

Marriage to Godwin Esimai
Mum married Godwin Esimai, the first son of Mr Gabriel Esimai. It was the beginning of a partnership that would last 48 years, until Sir Godwin Esimai went to be with the Lord in November 2019.

Retirement
After decades of caring for others, Mum retired from nursing in 2006 — closing a professional chapter defined by skill, compassion, and quiet excellence.

Lady & Sir Godwin Esimai

Married on 4 September 1971 to Godwin Esimai, first son of Mr Gabriel Esimai. Their union lasted 48 years, until Sir Godwin's passing in November 2019.

Vocation

A nurse, always

Trained at UCH Ibadan and in the United Kingdom, Mum practised nursing for decades before retiring in 2006 — a career built on care for others.
